Blair is an amazing author and always keeps you on the edge of your seat with the twists and turns, the unbelievable suspense and hot (and sometimes kinky) love scenes. She is a master at developing characters, making you believe there is no way that the story will end well, then BAM a new twist to put you back on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next. It’s awesome that she weaves the characters from other series into each story for more depth. As always, she leaves you wanting more.
Arthur and Gen’s story is no different. Blair had me laughing at some of the outrageous things that happened, scared to death for the next person’s safety, crying over what might have been, and loving all of the hot romance.
I can’t wait to see what adventures she will have in store for us in Flicka’s story!

After falling in love with Arthur’s and Gen’s story in Stiff Drink, I was absolutely ready for more in Hard Liquor…I thought. Gen has self-image issues and is struggling to overcome fears that have kept her single for way too long. She is also “in the trenches” in fighting for her position in Chambers. As Arthur’s shadow-life comes to light, Arthur and Gen find themselves in a deadly and impossible situation. They are beset by troubles when Arthur is accused of treason and betrayed by those he should be able to trust most; is targeted by his “masters” for and other countries for assassination; and, is on the brink of losing the Earldom from his jealous and unscrupulous younger brother. Help from his life-long, close friends, Casimir and Maxence, his “pit-bull” Barrister/Love of His Life, Arthur faces the dark times and betrayals with typical cool, calm English fortitude. Arthur’s love, care and dominance pull Gen through and she grows in her confidence, career and abilities to love. Not only devastatingly handsome, Arthur is a skilled and attentive lover who brings out the best in Gen.
I must tell you that this book had my emotions all over the place. I laughed, cried, hated and loved. (Even had to stop in the middle to “rant” at her on her VIP page!) Five Stars! Hotness Factor 10! Highly Recommended!
I looked forward to the release of this book so much. Part one ended with a cliffhanger and I so wanted to see where the story of Arthur and Genevieve would go. I was not disappointed at all... I absolutely loved it. Oh my gosh...Blair is awesome.
Now we know Arthur pretends to be a wastrel so that he can complete his missions and he does it so well that believes him. Which is why his brother wants to take away his earldom from him. Now Gen has gotten to know her client so well that she knows he's not what he pretends to be and she's fighting tooth and nail to make sure he keeps his title and estate so that he can do his job.
My favourite scene of the book was the one when Gen was doing her closing argument. She gave it her all... everything. Everything aged learnt from her pupil mistress and Arthur she put forward to win that case (by default) I loved how I saw the changes in her from the first book.
Read it please and you'll see what I'm talking about. Blair absolutely knocked it out of the park!
Arthur and Gen's conclusion will blow you away!!!! Well worth the wait, Blair Babylon kept me turning the page to find out what could possibly happen next. Just when you think you have it figured out the next twist in the story will have you gasping for breath. In true Blair fashion you will be reunited with characters from previous stories and intrigue for future stories. As with all books by Blair you are drawn to the characters with a force that won't let you go until the end but the story stays with you long afterwards. In Arthur and Gen's story when things are going as should be, deception rares it ugly head and Gen has to plow ahead with all her might without giving away parts of Arthur's true self and hope for the best. Arthur is willing to give up everything to protect Gen while his heart is breaking. You must read the conclusion to Arthur and Gen's story to find out what happens, you'll be glad you did. Can't wait to see what Blair has in store for Flicka!!!

Hard Liquor is the conclusion to Stiff Drink and what fantastic stories they both are!
In Hard Liquor Blair Babylon managed to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout nearly the entire book. I’m really not sure I know how to review this without giving anything away – which I won’t do. At times it seems like there is no hope at all – for Gen and Arthur’s relationship, for Arthur to win the lawsuit his brother has brought against him, for Gen to gain the offer for tenancy she so desperately needs to pay for her mother’s care.
Blair Babylon has once again managed to craft a story that has very funny moments, heart-breaking sad moments and an HEA that I was sure couldn’t happen (except that I know Blair always manages to give us one – eventually).
For those who love a story with lots of detail and complicated characters, Hard Liquor is just that; it is definitely not a quick read. It is, however, a very satisfying and wonderful conclusion to Arthur and Gen’s story. I’d also better mention that it is also H-O-T, hot!!! The sexy time between Arthur (he’s a bit kinky) and Gen may make you blush!
Blair Babylon will never be able to write fast enough to satisfy my thirst for new books by her. It’s a good thing there are other great indie authors out there to help keep me occupied until the next one is ready.
